A/Prof Asha Bowen is an infectious diseases clinician-researcher at Perth Children’s Hospital and Head of the Healthy Skin and ARF prevention team at the Wesfarmers Centre for Vaccines and Infectious Diseases at The Kids Research Institute Australia. Asha is focused on health improvements for Aboriginal children that arise from a heavy burden of skin infections, particularly in remote regions. This ranges from prevention of acute rheumatic fever through to treatment of Staph aureus bloodstream infections. Asha has 2 primary school aged kids, loves going to the beach and is passionate about seeing all Australians walk together to achieve the intention of the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
